We went to the Playa Hermosa-Punta Mala National Wildlife Refuge, we stayed in the Punta Mala sector which has street access only for guests. (The other way to get there is walking 40 min from Esterillos)

We arrived on Friday night under a beautiful starry sky, the room was super nice, clean and spacious. After getting settled in, we ate something and then went to sleep to get up early to walk through the farm that protects this beautiful protected area the next day.

The next day we woke up with the sound of limpets, monkeys and other birds with a view in front of the amazing Pacific Ocean ... We got ready to meet Sofi (in charge of the farm) and our certified guide who took us along the trails of a recovering forest full of life.

On the way we saw birds, monkeys, alligators, frogs, spiders among others. The beauty is that the tour is in the shade and is extremely entertaining. We also reached several viewpoints from where we could see the rock formation that stands out at this place, it extends for 1.5 km at low tide.

After walking we went to see this beach. The water is clear and at low tide giant pools are formed, perfect to go with children. When we finished walking and touring the beach we laid on the sand to eat and vegetate.

For sunset we decided to see it from our room at the top of the mountain and wait for our night tour with the same guide. During the tour our objective was to look for the little red-eyed frog in a small lagoon about 700m from our room ... and we were lucky because we also saw a snake and several small alligators.

At the end of our tour we had dinner and enjoyed the night to rest, happy to know this place of lodging and wildlife refuge.
