We went to this viewpoint after Palmares in Alajuela, It didn’t even take an hour to get there and after going to a supermarket to buy snacks, we started to go up to the viewpoint.

The road is ballast with some parts are poorly made... obviously, everything is uphill and you are surrounded by coffee plantations. To reach the end you just climb and climb until suddenly you can see the ruins of a monument of "Cristo Rey" on the right side.

The thing is that according to the story, It could not be finished because during the construction there was an earthquake that affected the church of Naranjo, so the resources were arranged to fix the church ... as a result, is this mystical ruin with a beautiful panoramic view.

After getting there and exploring a bit we climbed to the top of the monument (a bit dangerous) to take pictures from the cone. We also went to walk the dogs to a path that could be seen below, where the view was not so awesome, but it was still worth it. Then we got hungry ... so we decided to picnic in the shade.

After enjoying this place, we went back to San José, happy to know this milestone in the province of Alajuela.

Date of the trip:October 2018
