What to bring?
Trail tennis or hiking boots, comfortable clothing for cool weather, windbreaker, waterproof jacket.

First of all let me explain our location to yall … when you see towards the north of San José and you see a void and then to the left you can see the Heredian mountains, the first hill is called Zurquí, the second is called Caricias and the third is called Turú … the one we went to is Cerro Caricias.
This property is a private estate subject to the conservation regime that has been in Arguedas family for several years, and now they open it to the public with some trails and picnic areas that are all cozy perfect to go for the weekend.
When we arrived we were greeted by Mauricio, an agronomist who is very passionate about nature and who is in charge of the maintenance, administration and tours of the trails from his property. While explaining each detail of the trails we were distracted by the scenic beauty found in every corner of the property, what is really amazing is that this is a place so close to civilization and so exotic at the same time.
Not only do you see hummingbirds, wild birds and with luck a tapir, but there are also trees that have been there for hundreds of years and are practically living fossils that resist civilization.
If you just want to chill and vegetate Que Bien Lugar style then Bosque Caricias is the place for you! You’ll love it!
