To get to Poza los Coyotes you have to take Cañas Dulces, which is about 15 minutes from Liberia. The street is gravel between large farms until you reach the entrance labeled "Poza los Coyotes." You pay the entrance fee and continue until you find the parking lot under the shade of the trees ... once here there tires available to rent to float in the pools.
The farm is lovely and the pools are all very close to each other ... We first went to the pool below called Cueva del Coyote, to get there we walked about 400 m until we reached the river and right there was the pool with the famous cave.
Since it was very early there was no one, so we took advantage and swam to the emerald-colored water cave (that's why we recommend renting a tire at the entrance) to be able to enjoy the cave relaxed, but you can still swim but it is a little more tiring . You can go through the cave and come out to the other side of the canyon, it's super cool, so you can have a good time there.
Then to head to the other pools, one is famous for being photogenic since pics can be taken of a small waterfall that is inside another canyon with some cool stones which make everything look much better, if you reach this canyon from the top then that's another plus, because then you can go downstairs to take the famous photo. After this we continued to see the little pools, that part is shallow, perfect for children or older adults. To finish we went to the one called Poza los Coyotes that is higher up and amazing, the color of the water is spectacular and the stones of the place make the contrast incredible ... The river is wider and the water is deeper, there is also a part to jump, which obviously Tavo and Glori did, and the good thing about this part is that you can go up the river and be with less people.
You can really enjoy yourself here for hours, so bring things to eat and water to chill for a while.
- Important fact, arrive early because it can get very crowded.
