We went to one of the most amazing waterfalls in Costa Rica, located in Barú de Pérez Zeledón Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park. It is an incredible place that everyone should check out.

How to get there?

You can go through the Cerro de la Muerte passing through Perez Zeledón or along the South waterfront, exiting in Dominical towards Barú

We left very early for Nauyaca from Manuel Antonio. It takes about 1hr45 until the entrance of Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park located in San Salvador de Barú, it has parking, minimarket, showers, bathrooms and an incredible view of the mountain.

When we arrived they welcomed us with delicious fresh passion fruit, and then we got ready to go down to the transport that they offered to the waterfall. The place where the car left us is 2 km below and there is a huge ranch with hammocks, games, bathrooms and showers.

A curious fact is that this entrance is different from the one that most people use, and this has its advantages since from where the transport leaves you, you only have to walk 10 minutes, the path is super well marked and is in the shade until reaching the upper part of Nauyaca.

After walking for 10 minutes we reached the top of the waterfall (Nauyaca has 2 parts), it is impressive not only for its size, but also for its jungle environment and giant rocks. It's cool that to get to the giant waterfalls from above, you go through a cave with benches, that's another plus to enter through Barú.

After being in the upper part for a long time, we walked to the lower part of the waterfall and possibly the most popular for its large pool. There is enough space to rest on the stones and appreciate the beauty of the place.

It was a good time to get in the water, enjoy and eat some snacks to gain strength and go back to the place where the transport from Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park picked us up.

When we got upstairs we were greeted with a delicious chicken rice lunch, then we changed and left with a smile on our face.
