We went to one of the most beautiful and accessible beaches in Guanacaste…  Playcalled Cabuyal and it's only half an hour from Liberia!

How to get there?

To get there, take route one towards Liberia, then turn left for about 20 minutes until you reach the intersection on the right to go to the Gulf of Papagayo. From here it's about 25 minutes to reach Cabuyal beach.

To visit this beach, we stayed in one of the “Congo Azul” rental houses in Villas Nacazcol near Playas del Coco. This location is perfect: it is near the beach, close to supermarkets and close to our destination for the next day.

Since we arrived a little late we decided to order a pizza before going to sleep with the sound of frogs. The next day we had a light breakfast so that we could go early to check out this paradisiacal Guanacaste beach.

We arrived after eight o'clock in the morning, the way there is interesting since the street comes from the top of the mountain with the panoramic view of the coast ... there is also something peculiar on the way, there is a tree in the middle of the street which was not moved.

Then we arrived at the Cabuyal beach parking lot, where there were several men taking care of the parked vehicles ... Even so, we recommend not leaving absolutely anything of value inside the car.

We got out of the car and started walking to find the best shade in front of the beach. The best thing about this place is that being municipal, they have several picnic tables and garbage cans along the entire beach. In addition, there are policemen who supervise the beach from time to time. The only thing that is not so good is that you have to be prepared to receive a large number of visitors.

The beach is wide with many trees, white sand and crystal clear water that you can see up to your toes. When we arrived what we did was put all our things on the table and put them away to enjoy the beach ... Something peculiar about this beach is that it has an entrance to the mangrove which has an artificial stone dam that gives it a mystical touch. You can also swim in any direction like a pool since there are no waves.

On this tour, something unexpected happened, after taking many aerial shots with the drone something happened and the device went out of control falling in the middle of the mangrove ... despite the fact that we searched for hours and hours we could not find it.

After being here for about four hours, lunchtime was approaching so we got up to go back to our lodging place near the beaches of Coco.
