Pérez Zeledón – A Waterfall Paradise

If there is something that has captivated us after all of these random walks we’ve done, it is definitely the waterfalls. Going out for a hike and then encountering such waterfalls, getting a chance to dive into its pool, is a unique sensation that makes us love them. And Perez Zeledon is the spot. It’s the mother of waterfalls.

Catarata Diamante (Diamond Waterfall)

During this trip we slept like 5-star cavemen, literally in a cave, we saw the best sunset in the world at the top of one of the highest waterfalls in Costa Rica and we bathed in the most refreshing pools of Pérez. Go to know this unreal spot and we assure you it will not disappoint.

Echo Chontales

We went to visit Eco Chontales, a paradise waterfall surrounded by jungle, perfect for an epic photo, it’s hidden between Dominical and Pérez Zeledón, which incidentally is a paradise of waterfalls and rivers of crystalline water.

La Ceiba

Tucked into the jungle of Platanillo de Pérez Zeledón is a place that has a series of waterfalls of all shapes and sizes. Head and escape to discover them all, they are very cool.

Rana Roja (Red frog)

A beautiful place to escape from the city, with a bit of hiking, a really perfect waterfall, great pools, nature and a lunch that will make you feel better than at home. This place is an overall great experience, where just meeting the owners is worth it the trip alone.

Namú

Last weekend we went to San Antonio de la Amistad in Pérez Zeledón to check out some awesome waterfalls stuck in the middle of the mountain with impressive pools. These are 3 really cool waterfalls that we’re still daydreaming about.

Cascada Elysiana

We went to see an epic place called Elysiana Waterfall, where we found a wicked waterfall, trails, animals, forest with affordable lodging and best of all … ecologically exemplary.

Catarata Nauyaca

Hidden between the mountains of the Central Pacific and just 20 minutes from Dominical are the Nauyaca Falls, two waterfalls that together have a height of 60m, making them an excellent adventure option if you are around Manuel Antonio, Dominical, Uvita Ballena or even Perez Zeledon area.
