We went to Oikoumene, which means land fit for life. It is located in Ochomogo de Cartago. A perfect place for a quiet plan, near San José, with trails to walk, ride a bike or, like us, take the dog for a walk. They also have several lodging options and camping areas.

How to get there?

From the Recope campus in Ochomogo, 2 km inland. It's right next to La Angelina park.

Difficulty: For walking it is easy and for bikes it is ideal for beginners.

What to bring? Comfortable clothes, trail tennis shoes or boots, waterproof jacket, sweater, sunscreen, repellent, snacks, water, change of clothes and an excellent attitude.

We arrived around 10:00 am, and went to the office where they explained the place to us and recommended where we could start the trails. First we went down to the lake, and then we made a complete turn, it is a wide path that at a certain point begins to wind, this is where we ended up realizing that this farm adjoins La Angelina. We took the dogs and they had a great time. They ran, hid in the bush, chased ducks and ran around again.

We could also see that the place is much bigger than we thought and has very cool spaces for different moments. It has an amphitheater style to enjoy a campfire, there are also several styles of rooms, some for groups with several cabins and others for romanticizing on a mountain plan and it also has a covered camping area where you can bring your own tent or they rent one with you with everything including a mattress

To finish the tour, we had lunch at the restaurant that is in that same place and we are ready to finish another weekend getting to visit a new place.

It is definitely one of those perfect plans for the weekend, close to San José, you can go with dogs, children, older adults or plan the whole weekend and sleep over If wanted.
