We went to the Hotel Isla Chiquita, an amazing glamping site hidden in a paradisiacal island in the middle of the Gulf of Nicoya, a perfect place for a getaway with your family or your partner.

How to get there?

Take Route 27 to Puntarenas to reach the Paquera Ferry pier, when you finish crossing the Gulf of Nicoya you have to get off the ferry and take the first entrance on the left or 3 kms until you reach the Isla parking lot of  Isla Chiquita.

We arrived at the hotel parking in Punta Cuchillos after 9 am, the hotel staff helped us with our luggage to get on the boat that crosses us to the island (it is very close ... about 400m)

In less than 5 minutes we crossed to the island, we got off the boat and walked along the dock to the reception where we were given a welcome cocktail, we took the opportunity to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant right in front of the sea.

Definitely the Isla Chiquita Hotel is to relax and enjoy, and we felt this from the moment we set foot on the mainland, not only because of its facilities but also the staff makes the place an awesome experience.

After breakfast we laid down for a bit in the tipi tents and then we used the paddleboards they have available. Something that should be noted is that here the sea is super calm, it's a giant pool perfect to go with the whole family.

When we got out of the water we went to leave our things at our room, luckily they have golf carts to go from one place to another. The rooms are glamping-type, so what you have is a deck with a beautiful view of the forest and a large and luxurious camping tent, with 2 queen size beds, a full bathroom and plenty of space to settle.

After getting settled we went down to the restaurant again to have lunch in front of the sea. All the food was spectacular, from the seafood to the burger… it was all yummy

By the afternoon the sky turned cloudy, so we decided to play board games at the hotel until dinner.

When we finished dinner they offered us the bioluminescence tour which we could not refuse, so we got on the boat and let the show began.
