We left at about 8 am from San Jose to the Cerro de la Muerte, it took us about an hour and a half to reach the parking lot next to the street. It's easy to distinguish the hill because it has a little flag at the top and there is also a sign that says “Cerro Asunción, Tapantí National Park”.

After parking we simply crossed the street to look for any of the trails that lead upwards… total it was about 10 - 15 minutes to the top taking into account stops for air and photos.

The coolest thing about here is that we are in the moor at more than 3,000 meters above sea level, it is a landscape of low vegetation and a lot of stone, perfect to sit and see the panoramic views that this place offers. When we got to the top there were almost no people, and we also came across the luck of a cloudless sky, allowing us to see in the distance what seemed to be the Chirripó and the Crestones.

After this we went back to the car to look for another entrance and walk along a trail that led to other peaks, it is easy to find where to walk because the paths that are formed are the vast majority used to check the state of the towers with cables of high voltage.

My recommendation is that you see the Cerro de la Muerte as an "Amusement Park" where you can find trails all around and beautiful spots to have picnics without spending a lot of money.
