Of the most beautiful walks are those that remind us of our childhood, the one we did 2 weeks ago was one of those. We went on a Sunday to the side of the Picagres River in the Canton of Mora, a place with delicious pools and even a waterfall perfect to spend an excellent day with family and friends.

How to get there? Grab towards Piedras Negras, passing through Ciudad Colón. After passing the basketball court you come to an intersection where you turn right onto the ballast street. From here you get off and go down until you get to an intersection where you grab to the left and the one to the right. Then continue until you reach the Picagres river bridge.

We left Santa Ana to Ciudad Colón to meet up with our pal Andrés who knows the area like the back of his hand. We continue to Piedras Negras and after descending for about 25 minutes through the ballast street we reached the Picagres River bridge.

We arrived, parked on the curb and after getting ready we started walking upstream. There were a couple of families on the banks of the river, and the day was perfect, with clear skies and the sun shining.

After walking 300 m we saw on the right the water drop Andres told us about, a small waterfall with a perfect pool to take children because it is shallow... it also has good shade and the water looks super clean.

We stayed here for quite a while, enjoying our Sunday, picnicking ... then I went upstream with Fernan, a friend of the family and his son Mateo ... then Glori joined us with her niece Ary and we were walking along the river watching and enjoying all of the spots. Afterward we went back and got ready to return and look for lunch somewhere close to civilization.
